Nuveen names permanent head of APAC

Nick Evans has been confirmed as the permanent head of Nuveen Real Estate's Asia Pacific activities after acting in an interim capacity in the role since June.

Evans first joined Nuveen in 2005 as a UK property investment analyst and held several senior investment management roles before relocating to Sydney in 2012 to open the company's Australian office.

Evans was previously head of Australia and has had his role expanded to cover the Asia Pacific region.

The company says the change comes on the back of significant success in the region. Office openings in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Japan, an expansion into Korea, the launch of an Australian debt platform, and several key hires across the region have strengthened the firm's local infrastructure and scale. In parallel, Nuveen Real Estate has successfully deployed both debt and equity capital across the region on behalf of TIAA's General Account and broadened its offering to clients with the successful launch of its Tokyo Multifamily Partnership, an expansion of Nuveen Real Estate's China outlets franchise and the launch of the Asia Pacific Cities Fund.
