Tim Li has joined NGS Super in the newly created role of senior manager of investment operations.

Reporting to Maryanne Jardine, head of investment operations Li will oversee the development of investment operations, including the systematisation of critical functions.

Li brings over 20 years of asset management experience to the team, including a depth of private equity and alternatives consulting.

He joins from Quentin Ayers where he worked for 15 years, most recently as the director of portfolio analytics.

There, he managed private equity and alternative investment portfolios, portfolio construction of alternative investment programs and preparation of financial models.

Before joining Quentin Ayers, Tim was an Investment Accountant at Maritime Super and held investment reporting roles with custodians at JPMorgan Chase and State Street Australia.

Earlier he worked at Maritime Super, JP Morgan and State Street custody teams.

NGS Super acting chief executive Natalie Previtera welcomed Li saying it was an exciting time for the fund.

"As a proven investment specialist, our members will benefit from Tim's work to continue to grow NGS Super as a niche fund, offering Australians a genuine and sustainable alternative to the mega funds,' she said.

"We look for people who genuinely have members' best interests at the heart of what they do, and Tim has this in spades."

Last week, Previtera appointed Nathan Buttigieg to the newly created role of head of transformation at NGS Super.

He arrived at the superannuation fund from Christian Super where he worked for 14 years, most recently as chief of operations and product, although he also did a five-year stint as chief member officer.

NGS has also hired a second Christian Super staff member. Walter Ius joins as customer service manager.
