Natalie Previtera will replace Jo Townsend on the board following the latter's retirement as head of Funds SA.

Welcoming Natalie to the board, The Fund Executives Association chair Brian Delaney said Previtera's passion for the super industry would be invaluable in helping FEAL continue to empower leaders.

"Natalie's extensive experience in corporate governance, legal, risk management and government affairs will strengthen FEAL's commitment to professional development, education resourcing and engagement for the benefit of our members, the industry and the Australians we are here to serve," Delaney said.

Previtera was named NGS Super chief executive after acting in the role for nearly a year.

She joined the $13 billion asset owner in 2019 and was appointed its chief risk and governance officer in 2021.

Before arriving at NGS, Previtera spent four years at AMP as a senior manager of trustee governance and two years before that at Suncorp as manager of the office of the superannuation trustee.

Previously, she worked at Perpetual and Commonwealth Bank in similar roles.

Delaney thanked Townsend for her contribution, particularly during the pandemic, where she steered the organisation through the complexity of Covid-19 as chair of the FEAL finance committee.

"Jo's commitment to FEAL during this distressing period was instrumental in not only securing FEAL's financial position but allowing us to better adapt to uncertain times," he added.

"Jo's contribution to the board and broader super industry has been commendable, and we thank her for her contribution."

The board line-up now consists of Hostplus group executive member experience Paul Watson, BUSSQ chief executive Damian Wills, HESTA chief experience officer Lisa Samuels, and TelstraSuper chief executive Chris Davies, Also, sitting on the board are: AustralianSuper chief audit executive Belinda Ray, Aware Super group executive for people and workplace Steve Hill, and Rest Super chief risk officer Gemma Kyle.
