Pzena Investment Management is expanding its local team by appointing a director of business development and client services.
The New York-based equities investment manager has recruited Jeremy Bernardi from Northern Trust Asset Management, where he worked as head of wholesale distribution for Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Melbourne, Bernardi will report to Pzena's local head John Jardim and work alongside Paul Whymper-Williams - another business development and client services director.
Before working at Northern Trust AM, Bernardi worked at BT Financial Group and AIA Australia.
In 2015, he moved into the role of key account manager for platforms and licensees for the strategic partnerships team at the life insurer.
Pzena said the recruit has "extensive expertise in the finance industry and advice best practices, garnered from his accomplished career guiding advisory firms towards achieving strategic goals and driving continuous improvement."
The value manager has around US$70 billion in equities. It manages A$6 billion for clients in Australia and New Zealand.
This includes mandates from institutional investors and investments from wholesale investors through the Australian Global Focused Value and Emerging Markets Value funds.
