New CFO, MD for Qualitas

Real estate financier and investment manager Qualitas has appointed a new CFO after promoting their former CFO to the global head of strategy.

Philip Dowman has been named as chief financial officer for the real estate and investment management firm.

Before joining Qualitas, Dowman was CFO at IFM Investors and had been consulting for Qualitas for the past three months.

Qualitas group managing director Andrew Schwarts said that the moves were necessary to match the opportunities that the market is presenting. "Qualitas' executive structure has been evolving in line with the growth of the firm."

Dowman welcomes the opportunity, saying, "I have been impressed by the strategic ambition that Qualitas has to grow its funds management platform, and I welcome the opportunity to contribute through my understanding of global funds management practices, particularly within an institutional framework."

Previous CFO, Kathleen Yeung, has been appointed to a new role as managing director, global head of strategy. Since joining the organisation in 2014, Yeung has split her time between CFO and head of strategy. Her new role will give her a dedicated focus on the later.
