Neuberger Berman appoints Head of Intermediary Distribution

Independent, employee-owned investment manager, Neuberger Berman, has announced the appointment of Matt Thompson as its Australian head of intermediary distribution, commencing early 2019.

In this new, Sydney-based role, Thompson "will focus on local financial institutions and private wealth managers in Australia, providing investment solutions from Neuberger Berman's suite of products, which encompass every major asset class including equities, fixed income, and private equity," the firm said.

Thompson previously spent more than six years at Perpetual Investments, most recently as general manager of distribution. Before this, he worked for NAB Asset Management and Colonial First State.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick Hoar, head of Asia Pacific at Neuberger Berman, said: "We are delighted to welcome Matt to our already established Australian business. Matt's proven track record in the industry will help us broaden and deepen our client base and also maintain our momentum following the successful IPO of the NB Global Corporate Income Trust."
