Digital insurance executive Harry Georges has joined NEOS Life as its new head of sales.

Georges - who ran partnerships at Swiss Re's digital insurer iptiQ - replaces Charl du Plooy who will take on the newly created role of head of culture and performance.

Earlier, he worked at AMP as head of acquisitions and client services in the group insurance business and at MLC, where, most recently, he served as state manager of New South Wales and the ACT.

Georges began his insurance career in Canada in 2000 as an adviser, later working for Unum Provident and Royal Bank of Canada as a business development manager.

NEOS said Georges is passionate about the benefits life insurance provides to families and communities and is keen to bring that passion to NEOS.

"I believe the NEOS strategy will help create efficiencies inside the insurance ecosystem, benefiting the customers that we all serve," added Georges.

"I am looking forward to working with the partnerships we've created across the value chain and leveraging the investment we're making in technology to deliver on our mission.

"Our goal remains to help as many advisers as we can and to deliver exceptional service to their customers through our proposition."

Commenting on du Plooy's new role, NEOS Life said acknowledged its luck in having him lead our sales function and drive business success.

"We went from being the new kids on the block, to market leadership in just three years and advisers have voted us number one in BDM/sales support team of the year for the past two years in a row," the insurer said.

"Charl has been a vital part of building a successful team and great culture at NEOS."

He joined from TAL five years ago.
