Nathan Lim, co-head of investment management services at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth, has departed the firm after seven years.

Lim said he is currently looking for a new role but is unsure where he will land.

As co-head of investment management, Lim was responsible for the firm's asset allocation and portfolio management capabilities for Australia and Asia.

He had previously led wealth management research at Morgan Stanley before moving to Hong Kong last year to redo what he had already set up here.

"First time took me six years. After 14 months got it ready again. Time for a change after 7 years."

Now, Lim would ideally like to pivot back to responsible investment.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, Lim had worked at Australian Ethical Investment and managed the fund's global share portfolio.

Earlier in his career, he worked at Three Pillars Portfolio Managers - the investment management subsidiary of van Eyk Research and at Aegis Equities Research, where he managed the emerging companies portfolio.

"I leave after delivering a disciplined, institutional-grade portfolio management approach based on the firm's asset allocation for Australia and Asia. To enable this, we institutionalised our fund selection process and brought in industry best practices to deliver multi-award-winning solutions," Lim posted on LinkedIn.

"My yearning to return to my responsible investing roots precipitated this change, and I look forward to exploring new opportunities."
