After 12 years with Equity Trustees, Kylie Holbrook has jumped to rival MSC Trustees to join its relationship management team.

MSC said Holbrook's appointment beefs up both business development and fund expertise in its Sydney office and follows its recent acquisition of Certane's trust and custody business, also operating from Sydney.

The Trustee bought Certane Corporate Trust, formerly owned by the now-defunct Sargon Capital, in January.

Following the purchase, MSC funds under appointment rose to $30 billion.

MSC group managing director Matthew Fletcher called Holbrook an accomplished leader in the corporate trust industry who brings expertise in business development, client management and funds oversight.

"This appointment is strategic, and Kylie joins our expanded relationship management team in Sydney as a specialist in retail and wholesale fund trusteeship in a leadership role.

"We are excited to reposition the MSC business post our acquisition of Certane, and really promote our new scale and full-service offering, including corporate trust, custody, and fund administration.

In her new role at MSC, Holbrook is general manager of funds, reflecting her background in overseeing multibillion-dollar funds under management initiatives and as an expert in regulatory and compliance practices.

She arrived from Perpetual, where she worked in several senior management roles in fund compliance service for eight years.

Holbrook added:  "It's really exciting to join a dynamic team who now bring a full-service, end-to-end, fund services solution to the market, giving fund manager clients an alternative to the traditional trustee and responsible entity models."
