Morningstar promotes sustainability director

UK-based Hortense Bioy has been named director of sustainability for Morningstar. She'll look after research for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region, including Australia.

Bioy has been with Morningstaf for more than a decade, beginning as a senior ETF analyst in 2010. She was named director of ETF research for Europe in 2012 and director of passive strategies and sustainability research in 2018.

She was previously an M&A reporter and analyst for Society Generale and Mergermarket in the UK.

The company said in a statement, "Given Hortense's passion for ESG and our ambitions in this area, we felt now was a logical time to fully dedicate her to sustainability research.

"We're excited about Hortense helping us to further advance our goal of imprinting 'investors first' values on sustainable investing through insightful analysis and thought leadership in her new role."
