Morningstar exec re-joins colleagues

Genium Investment Partners has hired a longstanding Morningstar executive to help support the growth of its recently launched research ratings business.

The specialist investment consulting and research house - formerly known as Insight Investment Consultants -  has hired Justin Walsh as a senior research analyst.

Reporting to Murphy, now the joint chief executive and head of research at Genium, Walsh will play a key role in the growth of research ratings coverage across all sectors.

Walsh has more than 30 years of experience, most recently as an associate director in Morningstar's manager research team.

A one-time head of local research at Morningstar, he earlier worked as an asset consultant with Towers Perrin -  now part of Russell Investments - responsible for delivering asset consulting services and investment research.

He also served as Macquarie's national research manager whose responsibilities included research and management of managed fund recommended lists for financial advisers and investment committee membership.

Walsh earlier worked at Perpetual and State Street Global Advisors, as well as at index providers MSCI and FTSE Russell.
