Morgan Stanley's asset allocation strategist Alexandre Ventelon will replace Nathan Lim as head of wealth management research for Australia.

Lim will relocate to Hong Kong and take up the role of co-head of investment management services for the Asia wealth business.

Over the past four years, Ventelon and Lim built up the firm's research capability in Australia.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, Ventelon spent four years with AustralianSuper as an investment strategist, where he was in charge of building and managing various strategic and tactical asset allocation models. He also provided cross-asset research.

Before that, he managed a range of multi-asset portfolios for Credit Suisse in Europe, Asia, and Australia for six years.

The high- profile Lim joined JP Morgan in 2016 and has been integral in transforming the wealth management research team.

Previously, he managed the International Equities Shares Fund for Australian Ethical Investment.

Back in 2007, Lim was a portfolio manager at Three Pillars Portfolio Managers - the investment management subsidiary of van Eyk Research. He also worked at Aegis Equities Research and Sprott Asset Management.
