Morgan Stanley's high profile Natha Lim has been named investment chief and executive director at Lonsec's fast growing investments division, with long standing Lonsec operative Deanne Baker taking on the role of deputy CIO.

Lim worked at Morgan Stanley for nearly eight years, most recently as co-head of investment management services based in Hong Kong.

Before that, he managed Australian Ethical Investment's International Shares Fund.

Starting his career in 1995, Lim has worked in several stockbroking and asset management firms.

These include Three Pillars Portfolio Managers - the investment management subsidiary of van Eyk Research - Aegis Equities Research, Toronto-based Sprott Asset Management and Kuala Lumpur's Innosabah Securities Bhd.

Commenting on the appointment, Lonsec chief executive Mike Wright noted that Lim brought considerable international expertise in multi-asset strategies and a particular interest in responsible investing.

"Nathan joins the business at an exciting time as we continue to grow our managed accounts business. This includes renewing our commitment to partner with quality advice businesses to support them with tailored managed account solutions."

Nathan echoed these sentiments, adding that he was pleased to return to his responsible investing roots.

Meanwhile, Baker has been appointed deputy CIO, although she will keep managing the multi-asset, retirement and sustainable portfolios.

Baker as been with Lonsec for 15 years, working in both Lonsec Research and Lonsec Investment Solutions. She will be assisted by Eleanor Menniti, who rejoins Lonsec from BlackRock, where she spent fiive years as associate portfolio manager of multi-asset portfolios.
