MLC names new Head of Practice Development

Wealth manager MLC has appointed Michael Downey as head of practice development. He replaces Jasia Fabig who moved into the role of GM of MLC Advice in April 2016.

Downey has almost 30 years' industry experience, most recently as head of sales with MLC's strategic accounts team.

In a statement from MLC, GM advice partnerships Ross Barnwell said: "We're very excited to welcome Michael Downey to the role of Head of Practice Development, where he will bring a wealth of experience from previous leadership roles. Mike's experience will be key in helping us deliver to our purpose of enabling advice businesses to deliver a valued and enduring client experience."

Commenting on his new role, Downey said: "It's a great opportunity to work closely with MLC's advice businesses. Leadership and executing strategies are a passion of mine therefore the fit seemed natural in stepping into a position which is focused on using these skills."
