MLC Life Chief Customer Officer departs for APRA

MLC Life Insurance has announced that Suzanne Smith, chief customer officer, group insurance has left the firm for a senior role in the superannuation team at APRA.

Smith joined MLC Life Insurance in November 2015 and "helped build the capability of the group insurance team after the company became a member of the Nippon Life Group of Companies in 2016," the firm said.

MLC Life Insurance CEO David Hackett added: "Suzanne has been a committed colleague, a trusted friend and a key member of my leadership team. In addition, she played an instrumental role expanding our group insurance presence by bringing in a number of new business partners, such as Vision Super and Energy Super".

Smith's successor is Sean McCormack who has been appointed to the expanded role of chief of group and retail partners.

Smith now serves as APRA's general manager superannuation (specialised institutions division).
