MLC Life beefs up sales team

MLC Life Insurance has bolstered its retail distribution team with two new hires - one joining from Westpac and the other from MLC Wealth.

Jarrad  Wilson will run distribution for Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT

He has held leadership roles at Westpac, BT Financial Group and Suncorp Life.

Other roles include sales manager with Asteron Life and a claims consultant with Pillar Administration.

Rob Dassie joins from MLC Wealth where he was head of sales for 12 years.

He will cover Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

Earlier roles include sales roles with Colonial, Commonwealth Bank, Aviva and Insignia Financial.

"Financial advisers are critical partners to MLC Life Insurance," said Michael Rogers, MLC Life Insurance's chief individual insurance officer.

"Jarrad and Rob are the next step in demonstrating the improvements in our adviser experience and part of our strong commitment to the health and success of risk advice and the financial advice industry more broadly."

MLC Life Insurance's general manager of distribution Michael Downey added that the recruits are a crucial part of the insurer's sales strategy which is focused on new business growth, building out key partnerships and driving a culture of excellence.

Downey noted that the sales team has already doubled the firm's new sales market share in the last financial year.

Wilson said he looked forward to executing the firm's strategy by ensuring operations are aligned with distribution to ensure the service to advisers is fit for purpose.

For his part, Dassie said he was keen to help usher in a period of increased growth and better outcomes for advisers."

The sales leadership team is comprised of Cassie Wilson, Dinah Munro, Lianda Stoel and Angela Reinmuth.
