MLC Life appoints innovation chief

MLC Life Insurance has appointed Rick Wingfield as its new Chief Innovation and Transformation Officer (CITO).

Wingfield has been in a similar role with listed sports performance tech company Catapult, which held contracts with Richmond, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and the New England Patriots. He was also the GM of innovation for Australia Post.

This is a return to the insurance space for Wingfield, who spent two years as the chief information officer for AIA Australia. He was also the head of technology and NAB and held tech and consulting roles with Barclays Wealth and Accenture.

Wingfield says he's excited to re-join the life insurance industry. "We have much work to do to improve the experience of customers and our partners when they engage with our products, services, and systems. I look forward to working with Rodney and the MLC Life Insurance leadership team."
