MLC Life appoints Chief Innovation and Transformation Officer from RBA

MLC Life Insurance has announced the appointment of Sarv Girn to the newly-created role of chief innovation and transformation officer, effective May 2018.

According to MLC Life, Girn will be responsible for driving the firm's "$400 million transformation program, which is focused on delivering the most advanced digital and process infrastructure in the industry." He will report directly to CEO David Hackett.

Girn is currently the chief information officer at the Reserve Bank of Australia. He has 30 years' experience in financial services, including CIO, CTO & executive GM roles in the UK, Australia and Asia, and senior executive positions during customer change programs at both Westpac and the Commonwealth Bank.

Commenting on his appointment at MLC, Hackett said: "We have an unwavering commitment to leading the market in technology and innovation.
