Jim Minto is leaving the board of Equity Trustees after more than four years, the last two as deputy chair.

Minto serves on several international boards covering a diverse range of industries including the National Disability Insurance Agency and Dai-ichi Life Asia Pacific. He was also a director with ASFA, spending two years as chair.

EQT Holdings chair Carol Schwartz thanked Minto for his time on the board. "We thank Jim for his significant and valuable contribution to Equity Trustees during his four years of service, including his work as Chair of the Board Risk Committee."

As an executive, Minto spent more than eight years as managing director of TAL before retiring in 2015. He also held senior executive roles at Tower in New Zealand and Sydney for nearly two decades.

Minto's role on the board has been filled by former Liberal MP Kelly O'Dwyer.

Minto has also picked up a new board position, with Mercer Superannuation. "We are delighted that someone of Jim's calibre and expertise will be joining us," said Mercer Superannuation chair Jan Swinhoe. "He adds valuable skills and knowledge across financial services, leadership, and governance to our Board. His contribution will strengthen our ability to provide our clients and our members with improved retirement outcomes, and strengthen our competitive position in the market."
