Mine Super CEO to depart

Mine Super CEO Harry Mitchell is set to leave the organisation. He'll become the managing director of financial technology company Recreo, an organisation that Mine has been invested in for several years. Mitchell has been a director with Recreo since late 2019.

Mine Super chair Grahame Kelly said, "While Harry will be greatly missed, we are delighted that he has accepted a position at Recreo to lead that company in its next stage of growth to continue to deliver better outcomes for Mine Super members.

"Harry has been a transformational leader during his time here at Mine Super and the Board is pleased with his accomplishments as group CEO. We sincerely wish Harry all the best in the future."

Michell joined Mine Super in 2016 as chief executive officer after nearly six years with CBA as GM of Commonwealth Financial Planning. Financial services was a career change for Mitchell, who spent more than a decade in law enforcement with the Scottish Police.

Mine Super deputy CEO Vasyl Nair has been appointed acting group CEO until mid-2022. The organisation is conducting a search for Mitchell's replacement.
