Milford appoints former Bankers Trust CEO to its board

Milford Asset Management has added Gavin Walker to the board as a director.

Walker has spent the best part of his career in the financial services industry and has held senior leadership and governance roles in New Zealand and Australia.

He was the founding chief executive of Bankers Trust New Zealand and later appointed chief executive of Bankers Trust Investment Bank Australia. During that time, he was a member of Bankers Trust New York's global business council.

He was previously chair of Commonwealth Securities - Australasia's largest online retail stockbroking business -  New Zealand Superannuation Fund and ASB Bank.

Milford chair Mark Cross said Walker's extensive financial services and investment governance experience will add significant value to the firm as it continues its strong growth in the New Zealand and Australian markets.
