Milford cements local line-up

Specialist investment firm Milford has appointed Anthony Ip as a fixed-income portfolio manager, hiring from Citigroup.

At the US banking giant, he was a director and desk head managing the Australian credit trading business.

Earlier in his career, Ip was a sell-side credit strategist for Deutsche Bank Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, Milford's executive director and chief investment officer Wayne Gentle, said Ip brings a depth of experience across Asia and Australia, which will be leveraged to continue upholding our excellence in fund performance as Milford continues to grow in the Australian market.

Ip will contribute to the Milford diversified income fund, which aims to provide investors with a regular monthly income and moderate levels of capital growth by investing in income-generating assets, such as Australian and global shares, fixed interest, property and infrastructure.

Milford currently has more than $16 billion of funds under management.

The Trans-Tasman fund manager services a wide range of clients, including over 100,000 direct investors and financial advisers across Australia and New Zealand.
