Milford AM appoints new Head of Aust Equities from CFSGAM

New Zealand boutique manager Milford Asset Management (Milford) has confirmed the appointment of Wayne Gentle as the firm's new head of Australian Equities, effective 11 July 2016. Based in the firm's Sydney office, he will be responsible for management of the Australian equity portion of the Milford Trans - Tasman Fund.

Gentle has more than 20 years' experience in investment market roles. Prior to joining Milford, he was the deputy head of Australian Equities at Colonial First State Global Asset Management. Before this, he was a senior analyst and deputy head of research with Allianz Global Investors, and spent 10 years as a senior analyst with the institutional equities division of J.P. Morgan.

In a statement from the firm, Milford managing director Anthony Quirk said: "Wayne has a strong investment track record in managing a diverse range of Australian Equities portfolios for institutional and retail clients with various investment styles, benchmarks and risk profiles. His appointment reaffirms our commitment to a growing and thriving Australian based office for Milford."
