Mercer Australia has named three new partners as the asst manager moves to strengthen its position in key growth markets.

Jillian Reid, Chi Tran, and Tricia Nguyen work in sustainable investments, workforce consulting, and investments respectively.

Reid has worked at Mercer for 18 years and is a leader in the asset consultant's global sustainable investments team.

Earlier, she spent five years as an institutional consultant at MLC.

Specialising in sustainable investment and climate change, she has co-authored several global publications, including Mercer's Investing in a Time of Climate Change and Raising Your Impact Ambition.

Head of market insights, data, and analytics, Tran is a senior human resources specialist with more than 20 years' experience in workforce compensation, benefits, and analytics. She leads a team of 30 colleagues to deliver data, analytics, and insights to clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Finally, Nguyen is head of Mercer Sentinel, Pacific, where Mercer is recognised as a market leader in delivering operational risk solutions.

She oversees the firm's operational due diligence and custody consulting capabilities to benefit clients across both the asset owner and asset manager segments.

Nguyen arrived from BNP Paribas in 2015, after a nine-year stint there as a relationship manager.

Mercer chief executive David Bryant said the appointments demonstrate Mercer's confidence in its growth prospects and highlight the advantageous career pathways available to its people.

"Our clients' needs continue to change, and our new partners signify the increasingly strong demand in our key growth markets. As we continue to bolster our capabilities in sustainable investing, workforce data and insights, and investment operations, Jillian, Chi, and Tricia add to the breadth and depth of our already impressive advisory team," he said.

Bryant added that it was "very pleasing" to see the trio's leadership efforts rewarded and that he looked forward to the positive impact each new partner will have on clients and colleagues.
