Mercer's superannuation services leader Claire Ross will lead operations and technology following the resignation of Chris Stevens as chief operating officer.

Stevens departs the asset consultant after five years.

He ran operations for sixteen months.

Mercer said Ross has since had her remit extended to include the leadership of operations and technology for the Pacific region to connect the superannuation services business "more closely with our delivery teams."

In a LinkedIn post, Stevens said he planned to take a few months off to "recharge the batteries" before taking on the next opportunity. "I'm considering a few options re next steps, but nothing locked in at this stage."

"Many thanks to all I've worked with in the Mercer business - wonderful people and some great memories."

Stevens joined Mercer in 2017 as the commercial operations leader for the consumer wealth business.

He arrived from Colonial First State in 2017, where he was the general manager of wealth management.

Previous roles include chief operating officer wealth management at Avanteos and general manager operations wealth management at Aviva Australia.
