Media Super chair to step down

Media Super chair Gerard Noonan has stepped down from his leadership post with the industry fund.

The former editor of the Australian Financial Review was appointed chair of Media Super in 2008 following the merger of two industry funds, Print Super and JUST Super.

"It's been great fun and we've been privileged to play a fiduciary role in one of the great financial experiments in Australia for the past century," said Noonan.

Noonan will remain on the board as a director and will be part of the oversight as the fund continues its merger plans with Cbus. The two funds are expected to make a decision on the move by the end of the year.

Media Super has named current deputy chair Susan Heany as the new chair.
