MaxCap steps up hiring spree
Just two weeks after MaxCap Group added three new investment professionals to its growing team, it recruited a research head and an investment operations lead.
The commercial real estate investment manager has hired Bruce Wan to run research.
Wan joins from BlackRock, where he served as head of real asset research for Asia Pacific for five years.
Before working with the world's largest asset manager, he was an associate director at Macquarie Bank for nine years in a client-facing role, providing research and strategic advice to global pension and sovereign wealth funds.
Earlier in his career, he held senior economics roles at Queensland Investment Corporation and Commonwealth Treasury.
Reporting to the group head of capital Rob Hattersley, Wan will lead the research function to support the business and product strategy.
He will provide economic and commercial real estate market insights and strategic perspectives to investors on a global basis supporting the capital origination and the institutional mandate management team.
"Investors onshore and offshore are increasingly engaged with the Australian commercial real estate investment market. Bruce's experience and insights will further enhance our proposition and inform their understanding of this market, asset class and opportunities that exist for risk-adjusted returns," said Hattersley.
Meantime, Declan Granville joins as investment operations lead.
Reporting to the senior manager of operations Peter Callanan, Granville is primarily responsible for the operational and administrative functions relating to the debt facilities and investments managed by MaxCap Group.
In his role, he will lead a team to execute on day-to-day operational activities and he will also focus on the delivery of strategic and business process improvement initiatives.
Granville joins from Mutual Trust where he spent four years within the operations department, responsible for the investor reporting team, overseeing a range of operations functions including pricing, reconciliations, Anti Money Laundering /Know Your Customer verification process, and investor performance reports.
He was previously a senior analyst at Northern Trust and has extensive experience across trade execution in equities and fixed income, having previously worked at JP Morgan and the Royal Bank of Canada.
The appointments are the latest in a series of hires following Hattersley's appointment last October.
