MaxCap expands team

MaxCap has added three new investment professionals to its growing team, including a risk specialist who arrives from ESG Global Advisors, the Canadian consultant.

Greg Scott has been appointed associate investment director based in Perth.

Scott joins from the Commonwealth Bank's property finance team.

As the relationship executive and lead banker for key commercial property clients, he managed a substantial lending portfolio overseeing new business origination and credit risk management for a decade.

Before that, he worked as a structured project capital specialist for Macquarie Bank.

Meanwhile, the second recruit, Angus Simpson, will join the New Zealand business also as an associate director.

Simpson arrives from ANZ's Wholesale Property Securities Fund where he worked as an assistant portfolio manager.

Earlier, he was a senior equity analyst advising on investment recommendations for three of ANZ Investments' NZ equity funds.

Previous roles include associate at UBS Investment Bank, equity analyst for Forsyth Barr and a member of  Deloittes accounting and auditing team.

At MaxCap, Scott and Simpson will drive relationship management and help expand into new markets.

Anna Kaur joins MaxCap's capital team as an associate.

She joins from a Toronto- based consultancy, ESG Global Advisors, where she helped clients identify and assess ESG risks and opportunities and embed best practices, approaches and reporting frameworks for ESG, responsible investment, and climate change.

Earlier, she was a senior analyst with Canada Pension Plan Investments' enterprise risk team, where she worked on climate change risk, market risk and liquidity risk

At MaxCap, Kaur will support the institutional capital raising programme, including investor onboarding and developing business development collateral.

She will also provide support for the implementation of MaxCap's ESG plan.

The capital team has grown significantly, more than doubling in size since industry veteran Rob Hattersley joined as Group Head of Capital in September 2022.

These new hires follow the December appointments of Ben Woolley, Hugh Thompson and Liam Howley.
