Mason Stevens hires Citi dealer

Mason Stevens has added former Citi director Ian Weir to its investment team.

Before joining the wealth platform as a senior trader, Weir spent 16 years at Citi, most recently as its director of Asia equity sales trading.

"As our business grows, so too does our need for market coverage," said chief investment officer Jacqueline Fernley.

"More and more advisers are leveraging our live trading capabilities as they are seeing the overall impact the efficiency has on investor portfolios," she said.

Mason Stevens' head of equities Aaron Rayner added that Weir's experience with markets and communicating research and trading ideas to clients, will assist the firm's model managers in making quality, disciplined portfolio decisions.

The appointment follows Mason Stevens being awarded Best Platform for Adviser Support by the Adviser Ratings 2022 Financial Advice Landscape Report, reinforcing tit innovative approach and dedication to adviser partnerships.
