APPOINTMENT
YARRA CAPITAL MANAGEMENT
Date: December 2016
Position: Chair - Independent

At the completion of the management buyout of Goldman Sachs Asset Management's Australian funds management platform and investment capabilities, it has been announced that Mark Burgess, former Future Fund head, will take the reins as the new firm's independent chair.

A spokesperson has confirmed that the buyout is on track for completion at the end of December 2016 and that the firm will be rebranded as Yarra Capital Management.

Before that his roles included, chief executive of the Treasury Group, global CIO for equities and multi-asset at Credit Suisse Asset Management, and global chief investment officer for both American Express and Colonial First State.

In his new role at Yarra Capital Management, Burgess will join GSAM's Dion Hershan, who takes on the role of managing director and head of equities; Katie Hudson, as head of Australian equities research and small cap PM; Roy Keenan, as head of fixed income and multi-sector; and Brett Davidson, as chief operating officer.
