Maple-Brown Abbott (MBA) has announced that Garth Rossler, the firm's managing director and chief investment officer for the past decade, is stepping down from the role of managing director to focus solely on his investment responsibilities.

Succeeding him in the top job will be Sophia Rahmani, former Janus Henderson Investors' Pan Asia chief operating officer, who is joining MBA as managing director and chief executive officer in October 2019.

Robert Lee, chair of MBA, said of the changes: "I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Garth for the outstanding leadership he has provided over the past decade as managing director and look forward to his ongoing contribution to the firm and our clients...In recent years the firm has enjoyed impressive growth, and we believe that it is an appropriate time to appoint a managing director whose sole focus is managing the business."

There will be no change to the investment style and philosophy of MBA, the firm said.
