John Longo is set to join Cbus later this month as its new head of property.

The appointment is one of several the industry fund made around their investments team. Serge Allaire has been named head of private equity and James Crawford has been appointed head of equity portfolio construction.

"The quality of Cbus' Investment team has always been key to its success," said Cbus chief investment officer Kristian Folk. "We are an innovative long-term investor with a total portfolio perspective. As part of this approach, we focus on taking advantage of the Fund's scale by continuing to build in-house expertise to manage significantly larger funds under management and to continue to deliver strong long-term returns. These key new appointments support this strategy and our continued success for Cbus' members."

Longo left Australian Super in 2020 after more than four years. He spent the last few months as an investment executive for ISPT Property. Longo was the director of property at the Future Fund and co-head of real estate securities at Challenger.
