Long-serving Portfolio Manager resigns from Funds SA

Mark Coleman has confirmed his departure from Funds SA, the South Australian statutory corporation responsible for managing $26bn of public sector investments, after nearly nine years with the fund. Coleman was responsible for the fund's property portfolio, including research, manager selection, portfolio construction and ongoing portfolio management.

Prior to Funds SA, Mark was the chief investment officer and chief financial officer at Statewide, South Australia's largest public offer fund. His previous positions were in corporate finance, treasury and audit.

Commenting on his departure, Coleman said: "I resigned from Funds SA after over 8 years with the fund and have taken time off to spend time with my family, newborn grandson and to hone my craft brewing skills. I'm looking forward to engagements with advisory committees and non-executive directorships, in order to continue my focus on obtaining excellent governance and investment outcomes for investors."

Funds SA has confirmed that there have been no new appointments to the investment team since Coleman's departure in October 2015.
