Long-serving Independent Director to depart CBA board

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has announced that independent director, Andrew Mohl, will step down from the bank's board at the conclusion of its AGM, effective November 2018.

His departure comes as part of the bank's board renewal, which will also see the departure of Brian Long, who has served as an independent director for eight years.

Mohl was first appointed to the board in July 2008. He has over 40 years' financial services experience and was previously managing director and CEO of AMP from October 2002 until December 2007. Prior to this, he held various roles at ANZ.

Commenting on the departures, CBA chair, Catherine Livingstone, said: "I would like to thank both Andrew and Brian for their many years of service on the Board. Their expertise and insights have been invaluable to the Board's deliberations over a number of years."

CBA has appointed Anne Templeman-Jones as an independent director, effective immediately.
