London broker hires Mitrade executive to head local business

Capital.com, the London retail broker, has hired Laura Lin as chief executive of its local business having won an ASIC license earlier this month.

Most recently, she helmed Mitrade Global, where she launched the company's Australian business and built teams across marketing, product, operations, finance, risk, and compliance.

Before moving to Capital.com, Lin held several senior management roles in trading companies, including with the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi and the IG Group, the online derivatives trader.

She brings more than eleven years of experience in operations, compliance management, and corporate strategy to her new role at Capital.com.

Most recently, she helmed Mitrade Global, where she launched the company's Australian business and built teams across marketing, product, operations, finance, risk, and compliance.

Before Mitrade, she was a compliance professional at IG Group for more than eight years.

Lin's appointment comes at a time when the London-headquartered company is expanding its global presence, especially in Asia-Pacific.

Capital.com boss Jonathan Squires said Lim's deep understanding of the global and local regulatory landscape, coupled with her success at building strong teams and delivering growth, will be instrumental in helping the firm expand in Australia and the wider region.
