Linda Vickers joins BUSSQ board

Former chief executive of BUSSQ Super Linda Vickers has joined the board of the Queensland-based construction industry superannuation fund.

Also joining is employer representative Ben Young who owns and operates Workplace Compliance Australia and is workplace relations director at Hutchinson Builders.

The two appointments bring the BUSSQ board to eight.

BUSSQ appointed three new directors - Geoff Baguley, Paul Hick, and Christopher Taylor - in March following the resignations of Paul Bidwell, Sonya Beyers, and Madeline Dermatossian over the proposed merger with Cbus.

"All directors have extensive experience in their respective fields and bring a wealth of leadership and industry knowledge to the board," BUSSQ said.

Vickers retired as chief executive in late 2020 after more than 22 years with the $6 billion industry fund.

She was named chief executive in 2016 following a restructure of the fund.

Before being promoted to the top job, she ran compliance and operations.
