LGIAsuper names new Chair

LGIAsuper has announced the appointment of John Smith to the position of chair, effective 1 December 2016.

Smith has spent three years as an independent director with LGIAsuper and previously oversaw the fund's audit and risk management committee and was also an active member of the fund's investment committee.

Smith has 30 years' experience providing technical and strategic advice to large superannuation funds and corporations. Previous to his time with LGIAsuper, he was a director and consulting actuary with the Heron Partnership.

Commenting on his appointment, Smith said: "I am excited to have the opportunity to lead and work in closer partnership with the board and executive team as we move to grow the fund to benefit all current and future members."
