Law and governance specialist joins Managed Accounts board

Investment platform administration provider, Managed Accounts Holdings (ASX: MGP), has appointed Pamela McAlister to its board.

McAlister most recently worked as a partner at Mercer Consulting, advising superannuation funds and trustees on governance strategy, and as a director of Mercer Legal, a boutique law practice that specialises in financial services and superannuation law. She has also served the predecessor of Legal Super and the Uniting Church Beneficiary Fund as a board director and as a member of the independent compliance committee for Mercer Investments.

MGP said in May that it was "well advanced in the process of acquiring an existing Registrable Superannuation Entity (RSE)." The firm added today that McAlister's experience "will be invaluable if this transaction proceeds".

In welcoming McAlister, MGP chair, Don Sharp, said: "We are delighted that Pamela has joined our board as a director at what is an exciting time for our company and a period of significant change for the financial services industry.

He added: "Her counsel and input will be key in how we service advisers, brokers and fund managers looking to future proof their business models and operations as the shift to non-unitised wealth management services continues."

McAlister will also chair the MGP board's ARC risk and compliance sub-committee.
