Lakehouse Capital adds distribution head from Aberdeen Standard

Longtime Aberdeen Standard Investments distribution and marketing specialist Stuart James has joined Sydney-based investment manager Lakehouse Capital.

James started with Aberdeen Standard in 1996 in a customer service role and held several positions with the firm over the subsequent 24 years, including head of wholesale distribution, head of distribution, and director, head of marketing and business strategy.

James will be head of distribution for Lakehouse Capital.

Lakehouse Capital was founded in 2016 by Motley Fool, and manages two unlisted funds, Lakehouse Small Companies Fund and the Lakehouse Global Growth Fund.

Co-founder and CIO, Joe Magyer, said that his priority is on the investments side of the business, and after seeing "impressive returns over 3 years and 2 years respectively," he wants to make the solutions available to a wider audience. "I am delighted to have attracted 2 experienced Distribution specialists, who together with the existing team can lead the next stage of our evolution and growth."

James is joined by Edwina Best as a senior business development manager.
