Janus Henderson Investors adds to Australian fixed interest team

Janus Henderson Investors has announced the appointment of Shan Kwee as a credit strategist in its Australian fixed interest team, effective January 2018.

In this newly-created role, Kwee will focus on the management of non-government securities and related derivative instruments in credit specific and diversified fixed interest portfolios.

Kwee has over 14 years' investment experience and is currently the head of portfolio management at Omega Global Investors. Prior to this, he was a portfolio manager with Omega and previously held various roles with Vanguard Investments Australia.

Commenting on Kwee's appointment at Janus Henderson, head of Australian fixed interest, Glenn Feben, said: "It is exciting to be adding to our Australian Fixed Interest team with someone of Shan's calibre and background. The addition not only compliments the experience of our long-standing team, but with Shan's knowledge and expertise, it should allow us to further build on our performance track record, enhance our quality of service to clients and grow our business."

Kwee is set to leave Omega Global Investors in January 2018 and a spokesperson for the firm has confirmed that they are currently in conversation with several "high quality candidates" and that Kwee's successor will be named in due course.
