Janus Henderson appoints Retail Sales Director from CFS

Janus Henderson Investors has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Craig McDonald as retail sales director for NSW and ACT, effective March 2018.

McDonald joined from Colonial First State where he worked for over 13 years in business development roles.

Commenting on McDonald's appointment, head of distribution at Janus Henderson, Matt Gaden, said to Industry Moves: "In the last couple of years our Australian business has seen steady growth, resulting in solid net inflows in the retail channel. A key element of this success has been the ability of our Retail Sales Directors to engage with their respective markets effectively. Craig is highly regarded in the NSW market and we believe his extensive experience in funds management will contribute to our established national distribution team at Janus Henderson."

"In order to achieve a stronger footprint in Australia, we have also expanded the retail distribution team, adding an additional resource in New South Wales. Daniel Simpson joined Janus Henderson Investors as a Business Development Associate in December 2017."

Both Simpson and McDonald take on the expanded role vacated by Byron Slessar, who left the firm in January this year to join Channel Capital.
