JANA exceeds 100 headcount milestone

Investment consulting firm JANA has announced it has made several appointments, including that of John Montague as head of operations.

Montague has over thirty years' experience in senior leadership roles in the private and public sector covering areas of investment, administration and governance. Prior to joining JANA in March 2019, he served as general manager of Super SA from May 2014 until December 2017.

Montague and his fellow appointees have contributed to JANA exceeding its 100 headcount milestone, effective July 2019.

These appointees include:

* Tania Freeman, senior consultant, who joined JANA's private equity research team from NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp) where she covered private equity and infrastructure;
* Jennifer Cowan, senior consultant, who joined the property research team from First State Super where she covered property, and StatePlus where she had responsibility for unlisted real estate and infrastructure sectors;
* Laura Purbrick, senior consultant, who joined JANA from ANZ Private Bank where she held the role of director of the Private Advisory Group Victoria;
* Bharat Satghare, consultant, who joined the infrastructure research team;
* Lin Ngin, consultant, who joined the Australasian research equities team;
* Daniel Kisnorbo, consultant, who joined the global equities research team; and
* Neil Maines, consultant, who joined JANA's portfolio construction and retirement strategies research teams.

As well as:

* Lauren O'Neill, head of client development, who will be responsible for driving business growth and marketing;
* Erika Jordan, manager, operational consulting, who will be growing JANA's operational due diligence capabilities;
* Michael Karagianis, senior consultant, retail partnerships, who was most recently a senior investment strategist at NAB Asset Management; and
* Lucie Bielczykova, Siddharth Raghuraman, Evan Klironomos, Marc Wong, Sam Kazacos and Michael Chou, who all join as analysts.

JANA's CEO, Jim Lamborn, said: "We have hired exciting new talent who will boost our specialist knowledge and enhance the existing insights that JANA's clients have at their disposal."

JANA is expecting to announce a further five hires over the next few weeks.
