Sally Auld has been appointed chief economist at J.P. Morgan in addition to her existing role as head of fixed income and FX strategy for Australia and New Zealand. She takes the reins from former chief economist, Stephen Walters, who, after 14 years with J.P. Morgan, has moved into the newly-created role of chief economist at the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Auld joined J.P. Morgan in September 2008 as head of fixed income and FX strategy for Australia and New Zealand. She is responsible for views on the Antipodean economic and policy outlook as well as strategic and tactical trade recommendations in Antipodean interest rate and FX markets. Her research is targeted at a variety of institutional clients, both domestic and offshore.

Previously, Auld was co-head of economics and interest rate research at ANZ and commenced her career as an interest rate strategist at Credit Suisse.
