ISPT, the superannuation fund-backed investment manager, has lost one of its top executives to HESTA, the industry fund for health workers.

After 16 years, Danielle Dalby is joining the HESTA team as general manager of unlisted asset management.

The appointment underlines the importance superannuation funds are  placing on real assets. Most are their upping their allocations to unlisted assets such as property and alternatives.

As national portfolio manager at ISPT, Dalby originated a significant pipeline of assets for a newly created portfolio of property investments.

HESTA chief executive Debby Blakey said as the fund continues on its internalisation journey, Dalby will join the portfolio management team and work closely with the general manager of unlisted assets, Will MacAulay, and the head of portfolio management, Jeff Brunton.

"Danielle brings extensive experience in property investments and law to HESTA's more than 1 million members, having worked as a lawyer for a range of property transactions before managing property capital transactions, developments, and asset management at ISPT," Blakey said.

"We look forward to the impact Danielle will have supporting the HESTA team as we continuously work to make a difference for our members' financial futures."

Dalby said after an amazing 16 years at ISPT, she was "excited" to be starting a new role at HESTA and where she will continue to work hard for members.
