IOOF names Chief People Officer

IOOF has announced the appointment of Melissa Walls to the newly-created role of chief people officer, effective 30 September 2019.

Walls was previously general manager, people and change at energy services provider AusNet Business. Before that, she was head of banker and specialist enablement at NAB.

Commenting on her appointment, IOOF CEO Renato Mota said: "Melissa's deep industry experience and people management acumen will greatly benefit the company and the executive management team as we accelerate the cultural change process."

In June 2019, at the time of his appointment, Mota announced he would undertake a review of IOOF's senior management team. Since then, the firm has appointed a new chief risk officer, Amanda Noble, and two independent board directors, Michelle Somerville and Lindsay Smartt.
