IOOF appoints new Chair

IOOF has announced the appointment of George Venardos as the new chair of its board following the announcement that current chair, Rodger Sexton, will be stepping down from the role following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 24 November 2016.

Venardos has 30 years' experience in the financial services industry and joined the board in 2009. He has been a member and former chair of the risk and compliance committee as well as a member and current chair of the remuneration and nominations committee.

Commenting on Venardos' appointment, Sexton said: "George is a very experienced board director with extensive financial services knowledge. He has served the IOOF board with distinction for many years bringing valuable insight and challenge to our deliberations."

Vernardos added: "I am looking forward to moving into the role of IOOF's Chairman...Rodger and I have worked together for may years and I will be working closely with him over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition."
