Investments veteran departs SSGA

Susan Darroch has confirmed to Industry Moves her retirement as head of global equity beta solutions Asia Pacific ex Japan at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), effective July 2019.

Darroch told Industry Moves that her departure coincides with her 20 year anniversary at the firm and that it feels like "an appropriate time to move on."

As to what comes next, Darroch said she will give thought to that while enjoying a long-awaited break.

Commenting on her departure, James MacNevin, head of Asia Pacific at SSGA said: "We thank Susan for her leadership and two decades of outstanding service to State Street Global Advisors, and Susan retires with our deep gratitude."

Following Darroch's retirement, Jonathan Shead has been appointed to the role of head of investments, Australia and Alex King to the role of head of global equity beta solutions, Australia.

MacNevin said of the appointments: "Both Jonathan and Alex have worked with Susan for over a decade and will continue to deliver high quality service, solutions, and expertise to our clients in Australia."
