Invesco reshuffles local sales team

Jonathon Crook is stepping up from the role of sales head to be managing director and client relations lead as part of a restructuring that has also prompted some title changes.

Reporting directly to Invesco Australia's local chief executive Marty Franc, Crook now leads the team responsible for servicing both institutional and wholesale clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Tracy Jones, the head of client services, will now report to Crook, along with the senior client-facing staff in the institutional and wholesale teams.

Crook joined Invesco in 2014 from Vanguard Australia, where he worked in international sales.

Before that, he spent more than 13 years at Perpetual Investments, most recently as general manager of fixed income.

"The client relations team name reflects an evolution to a more client-centric, consultative way of engaging with our key clients and puts the client at the centre of everything we do in line with Invesco's purpose," said Franc.

"We have evolved the structure and naming convention of our Australian sales team. In making these announcements, we firmly believe that the "go forward" operating model will enable us to best service our clients and intermediaries in the Australian market."

Franc added that what was previously referred to as the sales team will be replaced by a client group that combines two teams covering client service, distribution, investment strategy, Invesco Consulting and consultant/research house relationships.

Meanwhile, Ashley O'Connor will assume the title of managing director - head of investment strategy and consulting reporting directly to Franc.
Previously, he was head of investment strategy.

"Under Ashley's leadership, we bring all of our key "client enablers" into one team, namely Investment Strategy, Invesco Consulting and Consultant/Research House relationships," added Franc.
