Invesco appoints Senior Portfolio Manager

Independent investment management firm, Invesco, has announced the appointment of Neil Lahy as a senior portfolio manager in the Invesco Quantitative Strategies (IQS) group, effective January 2018.

Lahy joins from Vanguard Australia where he was a senior investment risk manager. Prior to this he spent nine years at BlackRock where he was also an investment risk manager.

At Invesco he is joined in the IQS group by two new senior portfolio managers, Ritchard Longmire and Andre Roberts, and portfolio manager, Richard 'CJ' Tsai.

Commenting on the new hires, Invesco Australia CEO Martin Franc said: "We're delighted that Neil, Ritchard, Andre and Richard have joined the Invesco group. We're highly confident that this will be a great fit for them and for our business and clients."

"Their pedigree and track record are first class and will be integral in enhancing our Australian quantitative equities capability. We are seeing an increasing appetite in the Australian market for investment strategies that more systematically target risk-adjusted return outcomes."

All four of the new hires have previously spent 10 years working together at BlackRock, managing quantitative Australian equity portfolios.

Vanguard has confirmed that they are currently recruiting to replace Lahy.
