Interim Chair at AMP retires

John Palmer has stepped down as interim chair of the AMP Limited board and handed the reins to former chair of AMP Life and NMLA, Catherine Brenner.

Palmer, who had been an independent director on the AMP board since July 2007 and had planned to retire in May 2016, stepped in as interim chair when former chair Simon McKeon announced he would retire after the May AGM. Palmer stayed on to oversee the appointment and transition to a new chair.

In thanking Palmer for his service, Brenner said: "John retires today with our best wishes and gratitude for his contribution of more than 10 years on the boards of AMP and its subsidiaries."
